I have not put a lot of thought into this rambling post, with many thanks in advance to you the reader for your patience.
Now that I’ve gotten that out of the way, It’s time to get down to some serious business. Our country is in great peril, this is no hyperbole I truly believe this to be true. My gradual descent into a cynical view our government began thirty years ago, a student of history, politics and a bit of a policy wonk (I actually read bills as they stand on the floor, c-span junkie and voracious reader.) I and many a historian see a great number of parallels in the state of our empire and empires of old as they decayed and were absorbed by states and empires of different sizes. Not that I would mind shedding some of our 700 plus military bases, bloated military bills where congress in it’s infinite wisdom spends money buying things that our military does not want and did not ask for. Why buy it? you say. Here’s where it gets fun, The B1b bomber gets parts from all fifty states and a majority of congressional district’s. The military has undue economic power which is really the power behind the huge defense contractors, which in turn use moneys made for weapons to buy members of Congress.
Now the Supreme Court of the United States Inc. has given Corporations the right to buy elections! We are no longer walking down the road to fascism , we’re goose-stepping! We need free and fair elections, publicly financed with free access to the media. Health Care will be its own post coming soon.
